Having given up practicing law to teach (and drink), professor Markus Haglund wakes up one morning after a binge to find the attractive bartender from the night before in his living room. She is a student, Fia Jönsson, who had been trying to contact Markus about a potential case of a man falsely convicted of murder. Fia was asked by the murdered woman's daughter, being convinced her mother's boyfriend was not her killer, to help. With the aid of three other students, the team looks into police statements that seem to be incomplete or contradictory in hopes of re-opening the case.

The professor and his three students are joined by the policeman who recanted his testimony in their first case (and quit the force to become a student.) They next take up the case of a man in prison for six years for the death of another man who was kicked to death. But the imprisoned man claims he was trying to stop a friend from beating the man and took the blame to prevent his friend from being implicated. The friend admits this but says he only kicked the man once in the torso, while cause of death was multiple blows to the head. Looking further into the case the team discovers a crucial police report is missing and they are determined to find it. Having done so, they find a witness to the attack was never officially questioned.

In a club Markus is alerted to a doubtful conviction of a drugs smuggler. Elisabet Wijnmark already serving four of her ten years in prison, is reluctant about the team helping her. Anna gets sucked in the life of the nightclub owner.

In search for the real facts of a hit and run accident, the team under supervision of professor Markus Haglund, get to deal with a motor-club.

The team believes a bank-robber didn't get a fair trail. For he supposedly killed a policeman whilst being chased.

Pia's father, in prison since twenty years, gets the attention of the team. While investigating his case, the team is more and more convinced that Johnny Jönsson, Fia's father, is falsely convicted.

Alf Fransson, a drug addict finds his friend, Bengt Olsson, killed after he wakes from his rush. Unable to remember anything, he believes he's the killer and ends up in prison. Until the recently deceased third addict, Kerstin Larsson, on her deathbed confessed to a nurse that she was the one who did the killing.
